2.5D Strategy Action Arena Shooter

Contributions: ​

  • Designed the core mechanics and player abilities of the game

  • Designed tutorial maps and level arena maps

  • Playtested and applied quick problem-solving to issues resulting in a balanced gameplay

Timeline: 8 months

Descriptions:

​Lanuspater is a 2.5D action arena shooter who uses a unique timeline-switching mechanic that replaces the generic weapon/ability unlock system, and alters the world the player is currently experiencing. The players will be able to switch between three timelines (Medieval, Cyberpunk, Post-Apocalyptic) to fight through hordes of enemies using unique platforms and abilities in each timeline while enjoying beautifully hand-crafted environments that cater to that timeline's aesthetics.

Take-Aways:

  • Designed an engaged moment-to-moment gameplay tutorial

  • Problem-solved design issues found during playtest sessions

  • Put in the shoes of both players' and designers' perspectives
