Space Diorama

Environment Modular Set

Tools: Maya, Substance Painter, Unreal 5

Contributions: 

  • Modelled and textured realistic environment sets for a sci-fi space-themed room

  • Created PBR textures and models baking using Substance Painter

  • Unwrapped UVs in a clean and optimized manner using Maya

  • Created scene based on Mood board, Concept arts, and references I found

Timeline: 2 Months

Descriptions:

  • A 3D sci-fi interior bedroom modular set

  • Narrative: The protagonist is a science researcher who studies creatures found on other planets. This is the space cube one works and lives in while in space.  In this scene specifically, the ship is having a crisis as one of the specimen creatures has escaped from its cage.

Take-Aways:

  • Realistic PBR texturing

  • ​UE5 animated textures and blueprints

  • Used ID maps effectively to speed up the texturing process

  • 360-degree diorama scene

  • Created various block-ins in early stages

  • Set up lightings, Post Processing and rendered in UE5
